“
In a voice ripe with experience and gratitude, Carolyn Chilton Casas draws from her background
with Reiki and metaphysics to shine light on how everyday moments inform the miracle of existence.
With equal ease, Under the Same Sky explores themes of impermanence and grief alongside those of joy and awe. The poems reach beyond “time’s precious edge,” in a sincere quest to
make sense of difficult times and bewilderment following loss. These are, indeed, poems that ring like 'a dinner bell to a table set for all who care to come.' In her second collection, Carolyn Chilton Casas brings clarity, wonder, respect for the ways things change, and a keen eye for 'the everyday holy.' In a time of disconnect and fear, these are essential poems of celebration, connection, opening to grief, and praising the life that remains.

“
"Waking is a miracle," as Carolyn Chilton Casas writes in the opening poem of this
wondrous new collection, reminding us [over and over again] that we are here not just to
awaken our hearts, but also to give ourselves fully to "the mysteries we carry unaware."
Her poems open us to the everyday awe of simply being alive, seeing the light in the
eyes of another, and holding onto the kindnesses we offer each other. "I want to be
open/for the world to pull me in," she writes, and as we read and re-read Under the
Same Sky, we will come to see the same is true for us; we too want to receive all the
beauty and love available in each new moment, in each of these carefully rendered
poems.

Carolyn Chilton Casas has intuitively infused healing light into her poems, which, like prisms, extend beyond ecopoetics into the realm of the modern mystic, the lightworker,
the spiritual healer.
Her verse reads like a cross between hymns, lullabies, and ancestral
wisdom trickling through the author's close kinship with the Earth.
